The World’s New Dark Age

It was the year 2035; the world experienced a nuclear holocaust five years earlier. The atomic holocaust marked the beginning of the newest and latest dark age for the world. Moreover, the world had been becoming increasingly chaotic and less orderly since the presidential election of 2024.

The holocaust was responsible for losing roughly 80 percent of the world’s human population. The rule of law ceased to exist as the dominant principle seemed to be the survival of the fittest.

The year 2024 marked a drastic decline in the ability of elected government officials to relate to ordinary everyday Americans. In addition, serious world problems culminated around the year 2024, including climate change and social injustice. Because the world had not addressed climate change properly, and the government never discussed social injustice meaningfully, the world seemed to be getting worse daily.

Climate change led to frequent events of extreme weather that broke down the energy grids. Climate change also led to land shortages close to the coastlines of the world and food shortages, which led to land-use conflicts.

The inequity between the very rich and the working class was astronomical; this led to class wars.
